The ancient and noble art of the Suswa wash

Axeman gets a taste of his own medicineThe Suswa wash is the society's initiation ceremony.  It consists of a mug of cold water thrown between the eyes, at close range.

This may be carried out at any time and at any venue during the first three years of membership.

At least three paid-up members must be present to witness this time-honoured ceremony but in practice large crowds gather for these occasions.

Suswa wash ceremonies are best held pre-breakfast, for two reasons:

1. The water is colder
2. The thrower's aim is better before before blood alcohol content rises.

The perfect action demonstrated
