This did take place
but with only four walking participants — Ian "Axeman" Mason
and three Petzolds, "Mad" Mike, "Muesli" Verena and
Christina. Sadie provided the transport and Gordon "Hairy Beldoon"
Beldon got as far as meeting up in the bar of The Crown on the first night.
The party did the
Rinns of Kells, which consists of eight tops over 2,000ft, 15 miles of walking
and some 3,500ft of ascent. On another day there was a 13-mile Cook's tour of the
Merrick (2,764ft), Loch Enoch, Nick of the Dungeon and Craignaw (2,115ft). The
Meths party also met up with the Galloway Hillwalkers both on the hills and
socially.
